TripAdvisor’s Viator has launched a replacement booking platform giving travel agents access to quite 70,000 commissionable tours and attractions.
Dubbed the agent Program (TAP), the new booking platform includes TripAdvisor and Viator’s VIP, Exclusive and Skip the road products. Registration options are available for both host agencies and independent travel agents. Registered agents also will have access to a resource center with helpful tips and content, including agent training, product knowledge development, and destination guides.
TAP includes a commission rate and also allows for multiple currencies and monthly reporting. Agents can join now with no fees or restrictions to book as a private, host agency, or a member of a number agency. The commission is received directly from Viator.
Since testing began last month, thousands of agents have created accounts and booked experiences for his or her clients directly through Viator, TripAdvisor said.
In a written release, Ben Drew, head of growth at Viator, said that the corporate will still collect and incorporate feedback from early adopters so as to still evolve the new program.
“We’re glad that Viator understands and appreciates the worth of travel agents,” said Ellen Klein, manager, Tzell Travel Group Long Island, during a written release. “We recently signed up for the Viator agent Program and we’re very proud of it - it makes bookings easier and more profitable for us.”
